KNUST alumnus completes globally recognised finance qualification in 12 months

21 November 2023, Accra – Ernest Afrifah-Adae Jnr, KNUST alumnus, successfully completed the CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification in just under a year, and became a member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s largest body of management accountants and founding member body of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (together as AICPA & CIMA).

Ernest completed the qualification through the CGMA Finance Leadership Program, AICPA & CIMA’s digital pathway to completing CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification and earning the CGMA designation, the most widely held management accounting designation in the world. KNUST School of Business was the first learning institution in Africa to sign up to offer the program to its students, enabling them to start their CGMA journey alongside their university studies.

The CGMA Finance Leadership Program provides instant online access for aspiring business and finance leaders to gain the financial knowledge and competency needed in the world of business and accounting. It also provides a new guided learning and assessment route to completing CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification and earn the CGMA designation. With the help of real-life case simulations, it teaches a mix of financial, accounting, business, people, leadership, and digital skills that are needed to build successful careers.
