The Statement on Standards for Forensic Services No. 1 was effective for engagements providing forensic services accepted on or after January 1, 2020. SSFS No. 1 defines forensic services and reasserts many of the general standards of the profession. It also provides authoritative guidance on the allowability of agreed-upon procedures, contingent fee arrangements, and conclusions on fraud.
